Ultraviolet rays (UV rays) come from the sun and cause sunburn. This is especially important in Ireland from April to September when the sun’s UV rays are the strongest. To best prevent UV damage and sunburn you and your child should: seek shade, especially between 11am to 3pm.

Do babies need window shades?
One product that is a must-have to protect your baby is a car sun shade. The sun’s rays are harsh, and car windows let in not only the light but also potentially dangerous UV rays as well. To ensure your baby stays both comfortable and protected, you’ll want to find the best car shade.
Can a baby get sunburned in the shade?
Because infant’s’ skin is so sensitive, it’s better in the first six months to shield them from the sun rather than use sunscreen. It’s especially important to avoid direct sun exposure and seek the shade during the sun’s hours of greatest intensity, between 10 AM and 4 PM.
