Why do people put kids on leashes?

Such times, for example, include: having a child without fear, who would just take off running; a child with a disability who may become endangered; and when parents need to do chores, grocery shopping, etc., they need to keep their hands free while being able to lift things or shop.

When was the child harness invented?

1919
The first ever child leash was invented in 1919 by a man named R.C O’Connor, although I can’t seem to recall any photos of children on leashes during that time period. The reason for that is because of traditional parenting methods. It wasn’t right to strap your child to a harness, but we seem to have forgotten that.
